Saint Aloysius Elementary Academy offers students a values-based education that combines an inviting learning environment and structured academic rigor with a culture that stresses inclusion and service to others. The Academy's goal is to allow students to become well-rounded individuals by developing their mind, body, and spirit. Our faculty develops technology-infused lessons, enabling students to acquire methods, tools, and techniques that make learning a satisfying personal experience of discovery and self-realization.
The curriculum correlates with the guidelines of the Archdioceses of Newark and meets or exceeds the New Jersey Core Curriculum Standards. In addition to the core content areas of Language Arts, Mathematics, Science, and Social Studies, we enhance the student's learning experience by providing classes in Religion, Art, Music, Physical Education, Compensatory Education, and an Enrichment Program for gifted students. Character education is integral to all lessons and permeates the school's culture. Throughout the year, students build on knowledge and skills acquired in the classroom by Attending field trips and assemblies that highlight various aspects of the curriculum, Performing in a Christmas and Spring concert, Participating in service projects that connect students to the community and teach them to extend their time and talent to those in need.
